Wool of the Andes - WIP

I really love Knitpicks - Wool of the Andes. It is so nice to knit with and such beautiful colors. I have these 4 balls of Hyacinth, a deep deep bluish purple. It's gorgeous. Anywho, I haven't finished anything that I previously posted about. But I decided to try to come up with something cool for my WOTA yarn. Inspired by the Wavy pattern from Knitty, I decided to see what would happen if I would rotate two rows of 3. Like so...

Row 1 - knit 3, purl 3
Row 2 - knit the knit stitches, purl the purl stitches
Row 3 - purl 1, knit 2
Row 4 - knit the knit stitches, purl the purl stitches
Row 5 - purl 2, knit1
Row 6 - knit the knit stitches, purl the purl stitches
Row 7 - purl 3, knit3
Row 8 - knit the knit stitches, purl the purl stitches
Row 9 - knit 1, purl 2
Row 10 - knit the knit stitches, purl the purl stitches
Row 11 - knit 2, purl 1
Row 12 - knit the knit stitches, purl the purl stitches
Repeat 1 - 12 until it is long enough for you, end on Row 2.

This is what it looks like ...

I am knitting this one on size 5, straight needles. I think I casted on like 42 or 45 stitches. Either way it is divisible by 3.

I am making a scarf for me. It will be just for me. I will force myself not to give away. And I will absolutely finish it. I haven' made too many things for myself, as I believe I posted on before. But I think this is going to be the one. Just wanted to post about it. Hope all is well in the world of knitblogs, I haven't been checking lately.

This is sad.....

I just read through my posts from June of last year on and I pretty much didn't do anything I said I was going to do. I never posted pics of my house, and I didn't get back into blogging more often. I have a ton of WIPs on sticks and high priority projects that I need to get done and sent to people BUT I haven't completed anything in quite a while. And I used to be so into this knit-bloggin' thing.

I am knitting at the moment just nothing that I am supposed to be getting done. My current project is a scarf for me (which I will almost certainly NOT finish). I was supposed to have my cousin's baby's blanket completed months ago. And my friend Laura's daughters mufflers. I also have a few b-day presents on sticks and have been for months. Here is a pic of what I am presently knitting...

Wavy Scarf

It is from the Wavy pattern on Knitty. I have wanted to knit me one of these for ages and I got the hankering the other night and got it on sticks. I am knitting it on size 3 needles rather then the size 7's the pattern calls for. I wanted it to be nice and tight looking. I am happy with it so far but already getting bored repeating the pattern. I will need to jump on the blanket and muffler projects soon anyway. But hopefully this scarf will be finished and I will actually wear it. What is the point of all this knitting if I never actually wear anything I knit?

New Shop at Etsy

I totally forgot to post about my new shop on Etsy. Don't laugh I only have 2 products on there so far but it is a start. I'm eventually gonna get a button for it and beg some of my readers to post on their blogs but I am not quite there yet either.

But if you are interested in checking out my shop, please go to sharmanizzle.etsy.com.

WIP: I'm thinking of calling it "Hawaiian Sunset"

I was sort of inspired by some pictures from my friend's trip to Hawaii last week/and her birthday last Sunday and began work on this scarf using all bright colors from my stash (Caron Simply Brights) and this is what I came up with...

<span class=

... a simple garter stitch scarf on size 2 needles alternating color blocks every 30 row to 32 rows. I am not at all a person that approves of the color pink but I have to say that I totally dig this scarf.

<span class=

I was knitting from my stash though in an attempt to shrink the pile enough to be able to closed the lid on my yarn box BUT I freaking ran out of the blue color in mid-scarf. It is not good to try to knit from your stash only to have to ADD another batch of blue to complete this bastard.

<span class=

So, I didn't get to finish in time to give to my friend for her B-day cause I have to buy more yarn BUT I still think it merits a blog since I rarely blog anymore. I, like litte Ronin there, am tired and will take a nap but at least I blogged today. Tell me what you think of "Hawaiian Sunset."

FLICKR PICS, where are you?

True I have been a bad knit blogger but why are all my flickr pics gone? Is there a rule that if you don't post in a few months that your flickr pics disable? How are any of my old readers gonna know I was even a knit blogger at one time?

Ouy vay! I either need to go through each post and relink all the pics, or I need to chuck it all and start Knitting with a Vengeance over from scratch. DAMN! Too bad too had some fun stuff on there. Oh well, here's to starting over.

Life, work, begrudging home ownership have all kept me from my old love of knit blogging but I will try to post more often, even if only once a month. I am going to be making efforts to try to do better at WORK - LIFE balance but I have been caught up since my promotion last year. What good is a promotion if you reduce your quality of life after you got it right? Right!!! (Shout out to Jennifer for checking up on me the other day (I'm doing good, you?))

Even though I have been a bad knit blogger I have been knitting. Couldn't be exact about when or where I finished these items but I'm just gonna post shit load of pics and hope that satisfies for the time being. Most of the patterns are patterns I created as I was knitting and some were just K2, P2 no brainers.

Attempt at knitting skull fingerless gloves
The pink one I bought off of Etsy for a friend's b-day, the black one was my first attempt. Still working on that one, not perfect yet. I fuckin' hate gauge.

Black Fingerless Gloves
I like to call this "FINE I'LL MAKE PLAIN ONES THEN!" Fingerless gloves using the double circ method (which is my favorite way to knit now days).

Nathan w/ my knitted cap
This is my friend's baby Nathan, wearing the beanie I made for his dad last year. They grow fast don't they?

Fingerless Gloves 120

Fingerless Gloves 118

Cabled Beanie

Cabled Beanie with Sharmane
Cabled Beanie with girlie colors

That's it for now, I will have to get more pics up soon. Happy Knitting!
